These terms govern your use of camelclub.co and your membership of Camel Club. They're short, because we'd rather you were on the beach. By joining the club or using this site, you agree to them.
1. The club
Camel Club is a free community and publication for people who love Rock, Cornwall and the Camel Estuary. Membership gets you the Rock Report and club updates by email and through our Instagram channels. Membership is free. It is a community, not a legal partnership, agency, or anything else that requires a longer sentence than this one.
2. Membership
- Membership is open at our discretion. We may decline or revoke membership at any time — though it takes some doing.
- You must be 16 or over to join.
- You agree to give us accurate information on the membership form.
- You may leave at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email. No exit interview.
3. The Rock Report — a friendly disclaimer
The Report includes tide times, weather, sea conditions, ferry information and similar practical detail. We compile it carefully from authoritative sources, but:
- It is provided for general information only and is not safety advice. Tides, weather and sea conditions change fast and can be dangerous.
- Always check official sources (Met Office, UKHO tide tables, RNLI guidance, lifeguard flags) and use your own judgement before swimming, sailing, walking at low tide, or making decisions based on the Report.
- We accept no liability for any loss, injury or soggy picnic arising from reliance on the Report. The sandbar does not negotiate, and neither does this clause.
4. Recommendations, venues and third parties
- Mentions of restaurants, venues, events or businesses are editorial opinions or clearly marked partnerships — not guarantees of quality, availability or your table being ready.
- Where content is sponsored or contains affiliate links (e.g. holiday cottage links from which we may earn a commission), we will label it. Bookings you make with third parties are contracts between you and them; their terms apply.
- Property content is information, not financial or investment advice.
5. Members' conduct
- Where the club enables members to connect with one another (the noticeboard, member connections, events), be decent. No spam, no harassment, no commercial exploitation of other members' details.
- Interactions between members are at your own discretion and risk — we introduce, we don't vet, referee or chaperone.
- Members who abuse the community lose their membership. The committee's decision is final, and the committee holds grudges politely.
6. Your content
If you tag #CamelClub, send us photos, or submit content for the club to share, you confirm you own it (or have permission) and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to repost it on club channels with credit. You keep ownership. If you'd like something taken down, ask and it's gone.
7. Our content
The Camel Club name, crest, the Rock Report and the content we create are ours. Enjoy them, share them with credit — but don't reproduce them commercially, pass them off as your own, or print them on a gilet without asking.
8. Liability
The site and the club are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site, the Report, or the club. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (including for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).
9. Changes and the boring bits
- We may update these terms; material changes will be announced to members before they take effect.
- If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest still stand.
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though we'd hope any dispute could be settled over a pint at the Mariners.
See our Privacy Policy for what we do (and won't do) with your data.
